Hi, I'm Connie

I was born in Rochester, Minnesota. After a few moves that took me to Wisconsin and San Jose, California with my dad's Air Force career, we settled in Austin, Minnesota, where I grew up and graduated from Austin High School. Since then, I've lived in many areas of Minnesota: St. Cloud (where I earned my undergraduate degree in English and Speech Communications), North Minneapolis/Crystal, Willmar, New London, and East Grand Forks. When my husband, Brent, brought me to meet his parents in Kittson County, I knew I'd found the place I wanted to call home forever. After convincing Brent he wanted to move back home too, we were lucky enough to find the perfect place and have settled in Hallock, not far from our family in Lake Bronson.

I've recently fulfilled a lifelong dream of continuing my formal education, and have received a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of North Dakota.

As a lifelong Midwesterner, I am deeply passionate about helping to build infrastructure and industries that offer opportunity, hope and a sustainable good life for rural Americans. That passion has led me to seek opportunities in value-added agriculture, and I currently work as a business analyst in the biofuels industry. Sustainable energy, high-tech locally marketed food production, bioengineering, and robust regional supply chains are all essential components of a rural America that can continue to feed, clothe, and power the world long into the future.

Five Actions I Live By

I have a few principles that see me through good times and bad. Whether we agree on policy matters or not, they're probably pretty similar to your principles. I hope you'll take time to learn about ways we can use our shared values to find common ground and work together to make our communities the best they can be. I can't promise to always agree with everyone, and I'm certainly far from perfect, but I can promise that these five actions are my guide in everything I do.

1. Work Hard

2. Live With Integrity

3. Be Generous

4. Be Grateful

5. Never Stop Learning

If you are interested in understanding more about my policy ideas, you can do three things. First, check out my News page for references to my endorsements, and links to other sites where I've answered policy questions. Second, you can download my Policy Ideas and Priorities to see some of my specific priorities and thoughts on various topics about which I've been asked throughout the campaign. Third, if you don't see answers to your questions in either of these places, or if you'd like to discuss policy changes, I am always interested in listening and learning from you. You can get in touch via the Contact page and ask me directly. I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Thank you!

October Radio Ad Script: Hi neighbor. This is Connie Lindstrom, and I’m ready for our elected officials to start listening and leading. As your state legislator, I will listen. I’m endorsed by Minnesota’s farmers, union workers, and teachers, and I’ll work hard to get our roads fixed, our schools funded and our Internet moving fast. I’m asking for your vote, so that we can build these solutions together. Prepared and paid for by the Lindstrom for Minnesota Committee.
